These Terms of Service ("Terms") govern your use of Knurl, a strength-training app for Android and the web, operated by Knurl Fit LLC ("Knurl", "we", "us"). By using Knurl, you agree to these Terms. If you do not agree, do not use the app.
1. The service
Knurl helps you log workouts, estimates your strength from what you log, and prescribes training loads. Some features are free and some require a paid subscription. We may add, change, or remove features over time.
2. Health and fitness disclaimer
Knurl is not a medical device and does not provide medical advice. Strength training carries inherent risk of injury.
- Consult a qualified physician before starting any exercise program, especially if you have an injury, a medical condition, or any doubt about your fitness to train.
- The loads, percentages, and programs Knurl prescribes are estimates generated from the data you enter. They are not coaching, medical, or professional advice, and they may be wrong for you. Use your own judgment, warm up properly, and stop if something hurts.
- You are solely responsible for how you train. You assume all risk arising from your use of Knurl and from the exercises you choose to perform.
3. Eligibility
You must be at least 18 years old to use Knurl, and old enough to form a binding contract and to consent to data processing in your country.
4. Your account
You can use core features anonymously. If you create an account, you are responsible for keeping your sign-in secure and for activity under your account. Tell us promptly if you suspect unauthorized use.
5. Subscriptions and billing
- Free tier. Logging your workouts and viewing your own history and charts are free.
- Knurl Pro. Pro unlocks the curated program library, the workout generator, the find-a-program wizard, and advanced stats. Pro costs $5/month and includes a 14-day free trial for new subscribers.
- Where billing happens. Subscriptions are sold and billed through Google Play, which acts as the merchant of record and handles renewals and applicable taxes.
- Renewal and cancellation. Pro renews automatically each month until you cancel. You can cancel anytime through your Google Play account. Cancellation stops the next renewal and takes effect at the end of the current billing period.
- Trials. If you do not cancel before your free trial ends, it converts to a paid subscription. Trial eligibility is determined by Google Play.
- Refunds. Refunds are handled according to Google Play's refund policies.
- Price changes. We may change the price of Pro. We will give notice of changes as required, and changes will not apply to a billing period you have already paid for.
6. Acceptable use
You agree not to:
- break the law or infringe others' rights while using Knurl;
- attempt to disrupt, reverse engineer, or gain unauthorized access to the service or other users' data;
- resell or commercially exploit the service without our permission.
7. Your data
Your training data is yours. You can export it as CSV or JSON and delete your account from inside the app. Our handling of your data is described in our Privacy Policy.
8. Intellectual property
Knurl, including its software, design, and content we provide, is owned by us and protected by intellectual property laws. We grant you a personal, non-transferable, revocable license to use the app under these Terms. You keep ownership of the data you create.
9. Disclaimer of warranties
Knurl is provided "as is" and "as available" without warranties of any kind, whether express or implied, including fitness for a particular purpose and non-infringement. We do not warrant that the app will be uninterrupted, error-free, or that its estimates will be accurate.
10. Limitation of liability
To the maximum extent permitted by law, we are not liable for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, or for any personal injury arising from your use of Knurl. Our total liability for any claim relating to the service is limited to the amount you paid us in the twelve months before the claim. Some jurisdictions do not allow certain limitations, so some of these may not apply to you.
11. Termination
You can stop using Knurl at any time and delete your account. We may suspend or end your access if you violate these Terms or to protect the service. Sections that by their nature should survive termination will survive.
12. Changes to these Terms
We may update these Terms as the app evolves. When we make material changes, we will update the date above and, where appropriate, notify you in the app. Continuing to use Knurl after changes means you accept the updated Terms.
13. Governing law
These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Missouri, without regard to its conflict-of-law rules. Any dispute arising from these Terms or your use of Knurl will be resolved in the state or federal courts located in Missouri, and you consent to their jurisdiction and venue.
